Gus Anderson
I was born and raised in Casper and spent most of my life here, fortunate enough to have been able to office in Casper. The last 8 years I have been in Denver.
My wife Kristine is my mainstay and strength. I have 3 children, Michelle, Luke and Mark. They are my pride and joy, along with 4 grandkids and a 5th on the way — a girl, by the way.
I started in the oilfield working originally for Dia-log in 1979, went through two buyouts and eventually became Baker, then went to work for Weatherford in 2015 before retiring in 2021.
I started with the Senior Wildcatters 15 years ago through George Stewart, who has been a dear friend for the last 44 years. It was George who called me and got me started. I guess I had a pretty good handicap. I have enjoyed this tournament above all others that I have played in. It has always been something I have looked forward to each and every year.
I have made many new friends over the years and reacquainted with old ones. I always recommend this tournament over all others and have gotten a few to golf with us. While with Weatherford, we had cooked lunches over the years until COVID made things difficult for everyone. I have many great memories of this wonderful golfing event.
Shout outs to George Stewart, Ace Parker (who happens to be my son-in-law’s grandfather, which makes me a little biased), and the board members who always left me feeling appreciated and were always willing to help.
Thank you Senior Wildcatters for offering a great golf tournament and allowing us older people a place to play fun golf.
Thank You
Gus Anderson
